Where environmental protection meets social impact
Our Current Programs
-
Residential Fuel Reduction Program
Through partnerships with local certified arborists, we help create defensible spaces around Flagstaff homes by offering free and sliding-scale tree removal and vegetation management services. This program makes critical fire protection accessible to residents who might otherwise be unable to afford these essential services, helping to build a more fire-resilient community one property at a time.
-
STEM Training Program
We offer paid internships that open doors to natural resource careers for underrepresented populations in STEM fields. Through hands-on training with experienced professionals, interns develop valuable skills in arboriculture, tree felling, sawyer operations, and vegetation management. This program creates meaningful pathways to forestry careers while building our community's capacity to manage local forests and reduce fire risk.
-
Firewood Distribution
We partner with local agencies to provide essential firewood to low-income households in Flagstaff and neighboring Tribal communities. By connecting forest restoration work with community needs, our firewood distribution program helps ensure that households dependent on wood heat can access this vital resource. Through this program, we transform trees removed for fire protection into a valuable community resource, bridging the gap between forest health and household warmth.
